Amidst an EU cirisis Denmark strives for a responsible, dynamic, green and safe Europe.

The Presidency of EU Council was officially handed over from Poland to Denmark on Wednesday during a ceremony in Copenhagen. Attended by over 400 guests, including top officials from the European Union institutions and member countries, the ceremony saw speeches both summarising the presidency just past and attempting to outline a program for the nearest future.

While the ongoing crisis in the Euro zone weights heavily on EU leaders' shoulders, thay are trying to look out for better, brighter future. Sławek Szefs' report fromt he ceremony includes statements from President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, Jerzy Buzek - the outgoing President of European Parliment, Denmark's Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and Polish PM Donald Tusk.
